i prefer to use lots of emotion, vibrato, etc. like john frusciante of red hot chili peppers, which can sometimes lead into some shredding, but most of the time there wont be

Na it's more like a Michael Angelo Batio double neck. They go in different directions.

I channel my emotions, which leads to a combination of everything I can do.
I'll be your number one with a bullet.

I just play whatever comes to mind, honestly. Sometimes it comes out fast and sloppy, sometimes smooth and slow. Sometimes it's magic and sometimes it sounds like ****. meh...
#13
If one of these threads wasn't bad enough you made another with a crappy poll. Contragulations.

Wow, cool. Then you can do a meatspin.

Taken from the other thread:

I've only written one solo, which switches between fast and a little slower. I even made a pause in a whole beat of the comp just to make a cool effect in the solo. I suck at metal improvisation, then I just go for fast tremolo picking.

When I play slower songs, I go for the David Gilmour-type of solo (IE: Not filling every second of silence with 1000 notes).

In summation, I play with taste.

Great call on the mutiple choice poll. I went for the two first options.

I suck at improvising, but I write my solos, and usually come out with some, according to my guitar teacher, top notch stuff.

But on the improvisation front, I suck

Meh, I solo like John Entwistle and Cliff Burton's child, adopted by Flea and Vic Wooten.

Well, I do sound a little like Cliff Burton, highly distorted and wah-wahed to the max!

I use a lot of different techniques, sometimes do some expiremental effects stuff....I mainly stay pentatonic though tbh. I rarely shred.

I use tremolo picking quite a bit, alternate picking, vibrato, bends, slides, double notes, double stops, synchopation, etc.

That sounds close to me. I can improvise rhythm stuff, but if I impro lead work I tend to just play in one position and it sounds kinda monotonous. It's something I'm trying to improve though.

My solos usually have some sort of effect going on at some point, like a cheap flange, heavy slapback, or chorus. I don't shred (I really can't) and I usually go for melody over scale tradition. Lotsa stuff is high gain and sloppy and lotsa oblique bendy stuff. I just make a little noise.

I usually prefer a good keyboard synth string setting keyboard solo thing, but on the rare occasion I do a guitar solo live it's usually loaded with more delay, flanger, distortion and reverb than a 12 year old kid uses in a music shop.

And even then it's one string solos...I've got a mate who usually plays solos on recordings for me, because I'm lazy

I voted for them all O.o

Lots of vibrato. Whenever I hold a note, I usually add vibrato. when i'm doing quick runs, I don't worry about adding vibrato. I also like bends, double stops, and using the blues scale.
