Is there a way to make theneck on my ibanez any faster? its a lower end ibanez gio, and i like the sound it gives, but it just isnt fast enough for me. any ways to speed it up a lil bit?

there isnt any laquer or anything on it really, just the fretboard and frets, so would sandpaper work for me or should i get a brush and some laquer and put it on there. also, would I have to remove the frets to do any of this.

thanks in advance

rub lemon juice on the frets?
or put lotion on your fingertips...

Better than hooked on crack, I suppose. I'd rather know my kids are safe at home beating their meat than out in the world robbing old women for their crack fix.

What a huge coincidence. I have a butthole also.

how about an engine that runs on cheetah blood and has lotion on it to make it shine?! then it would be really fast!

take your guitar to a guitar mechanic and ask him to sand down the neck, making it thinner and faster...... thats what I would do.....

Use lubricants like Fast Fret or you could polish the back of the neck, w/ lemon oil(the stuff use for wood furniture but dot over do it)
#13
its not the back that is slow, its the fretboard that feels slow...

Practicing to make yourself faster is certainly far overrated!

Try rubbing some dirt on it.
#17
you can try fastfret on it. i have not found any special thing for fretboards for speed.

Sand the neck thinner.. Not recommended

Use steel wool to knock off the dirt and some of the gloss of the paint. Helps out alot on painted neck guitars.

Learn not to hug the neck so tightly.
#19
you have a few options,...

1. Sand down the back of the neck
2. Rub the fretboard with steelwool
3. Rub on some lemon or citrus oil
4. Have the neck scalloped.
5. all of the above
6. do #'s 1,2, and 3.

Schecter Syn Std. * modded, scalloped, and worn*

kill yourself.

the whole point of frets is to minize contact with your fretboard.
Did your guitar come with tin frets or something?

and if you decide not to kill yourself (permanent solution to a temporary problem) you should clean your finger board friend . first use a clean lint free rag (no cleaner) see how it feels, if that isnt good enough use a guitar polish. if you make that neck any thinner it i'll be see-through

I actually saw a product here that was made for that, but me and the salesman were laughing at how ridiculous the whole concept was If you just practice you can play as fast as you want (not that that's always a good thing).
