i am trying to learn how to play the classical guitar from Fredrick Noad's book "Solo Guitar Playing"

my question is, is any part of my hand supposed to be touching the guitar besides my fingers? I am currently resting my palm on the body. This is probably because I do a lot of palm muting on the electric.

Romance D'Amour, also known as Spanish Romance or just Romance; by anonymous.

I think that would be an easy first while giving you some decent little fret-hand changes and some picking-hand experience.
