so i'm trying to play a C#m on my crappy $50 guitar and i cant. I've tried it over and over and over and over and over... again but i can never get the e string. I have pretty good strings but the guitar is a no name walmart guitar. any advice on how to solve this problem (i'm not looking for "keep at it, you'll get it eventually" or "buy a new guitar dude" however, i might be getting a new one soon anyway) well just thought maybe someone could help. thanks!

If you won't accept either of those, you could try lowering the action.

lol. yes i know... practice. and i will do that. thats why i didn't want people to give me that specivic advice. also, whats the action? i've only been playing off and on for a month or two.

The action is how far the strings are from the neck. My advice is to have a guitar tech set your guitar up for you and ask him to lower it a bit. The whole thing will cost you 10 bucks.
