How would I go about preparing to join a band? I'm good at rythm, I can't solo, and I have alright gear. I'm learning to solo and my tempo so far is 160, and I want to play in either a thrash or a NWOBHM band? Any suggestions?

160 is wya too slow man. you gott abe playing at 3 billion at least. 5 billion is recommended. now sell your guitar on ebay.

But seriousley, stop worrying about the tempo so much and just get out there and play.

It's not THAT important of what you can do now. It's more about the potential of what you can become. If, you set your mind to it, playing in a band can skyrocket your skill. Well, that may have been over the top... but you will most probably develop your skills faster when in a band.

He's right y'know.
Practicing playing fast on your own... makes you good at playing fast on your own.
Practicing with other people makes you good at playing with other people.
You wanna be good at being in a band? Then join a band and gain the necessary experience.
It's as simple as that.
