share your amp and guitar settings for playing bues/jazz
if this isn't allowed tell me and i'll delete this. but i figured theres no thread for blues tones...
so yah!
my amp is set to 10 mids 4 lows and o highs when i use my ibanez.
i tend to do the same thing for my other guitars and my reverb is at about 3 most of the time...usually i use my neck/bridge position.
annd for rythm i take out all the highs and lows
and ive always got my overdrive pedel on slightly for better response to my pick attack...
you?

and as carswell suggested if you can post an mp3 of it as well.

On my Strat I usually use 8 bass, 7 mids and 6/7 treble and sometimes light chorus. Neck pup with guitar tone set between 6 and 8.

I'm using a multi-fx so I'll probably change this when I (finally) get round to buying a good amp.

why doesn't everyone make an mp3 to demonstrate them as well?

I did, but unfortunately my Mic in my recorder is a little oversensitive so the sound is distorted, you can't even hear the notes at times :/

they are in my profile in the skill thing though

On my amp i don't have mid, i have contour, is this the same thing? I don't know much about amps.

Oooh i like the idea of this thread ;-)

My blues tone (on strat):

Bass - 6
Mid - 5
Treble - 5
Reverb - 4/5

Then i have the neck pickup selected to get a nice round warm strat tone. Occasionally I'll turn the tone down for that pickup to make it more mellow and jazzy.

Nice...

awesome?

I'm playing a squier through a Vox Valvetronix

with any luck it's like they say, they tone is in the fingers???

but My eq for those was

treb-10
mid- 5
bass- 8
gain- 10

then a touch of reverb and playing on the neck pup

it's good you think it is alright though, makes me not so depressed about my ass-tastic gear

yeah my mic is alright for acoustic but you can really tell how poorly it picks up the amp when I'm playing single notes

Am I the only person who turns his bass down to play blues? I guess its from my lo-fi influences, I like to keep something around the following on a Blues Junior through my strat w/ humbuckers (GFS Fat PAFs)

Treble - 8-10
Mids - 7-9
Bass - 3-5
Volume - Little below max
Master to balance volume level

i use a fender telecaster with 9 1/2 gauge strings (for those high bends). I have a fender vibrolux reverb (original, not reissue), and i use a big muff.
try to keep a warm sound to it.

Fender Nashville Tele with Tex-Mex pick-ups, the neck pick-up selected. Full volume and tone on the guitar.

Peavey Classic 50 2/12:
Preamp-7
Bass-12(MAX)
Middle-6
Treble-7
Presence-1(NONE)

^ I got a Peavey Classic too. It's only the 30, but I love it. Anyway, I use the same settings for most styles because I like my guitar to sound kind of ****ty. It's like this

Bass - 11
Mid - 11.5
Treble - 8 or 9

Guitar is 99% of the time full volume and tone, and I switch between neck/bridge depending on what I'm playing.
