Just A Page
There’s a whole in my soul that’s too big to be real
I ignore it as I go on my way
As an hourglass there’s no way to drain it faster, to the past
But it fades as I drift through each day

Restless and aimless my mouth can’t keep up
While my mind’s always dodging away
It leads me from comfort for that is my cage
But are you the book or are you just a page

Lady luck she shines some hope in my direction
With as smile as close as the moon
For happiness shared, my mind needs repairing
And I know there’s a chance that she might come to soon

You are just a page
You are just a page

At the busstop I’m waiting but the train doesn’t come
And the buses ain’t goin my way
I know with some time and a little direction
Those drivers could take trains and lay tracks anyway

Lady luck she shines some hope in my direction
With a smile as close as the moon
For happiness shared, my mind needs repairing
But no there’s no chance that she might come too soon

Draining on down each hourglass day
I know there’ll be trouble without much to say
My motive for metaphors explained away
I’m just a page while my words are away

You are just a page
You are just a page

Any comments I will definitely read them. Thank you for reading.

There's a HOLE in my soul..

That almost put me off the whole poem.

The poem lacked spark until the third last stanza. That's the only time your song/poem gained direction and momentum. The wordplay before this wasn't that great, but you found yourself at this part.

Draining on down each hourglass day

My motive for metaphors explained away

My favourite two lines. Funny to see how you arranged the words so differently from how most people would. Nice work, mate.

Oh, and crit for crit please. Link's in my sig.
