Alright, my current gear line up is a Line 6 Spider 120 watt with an Ibanez GAX70 and a "Vinci" department store I stole from my brother, and a Squier Strat Limited Edition

My question is, which do I need more right now?

A Peavey ValveKing 212 for $619

or

An Ibanez S520EX?

I really want the Ibanez more than any other guitar before, but I also know I can do better than my god forsaken Line 6...

Opinions?

sell the Line 6, get the valveking (or a better amp for that price if you can)

Ibanez lol mainly because then you can have a guitar with humbuckers unless your squier's got humbucker.

because there is also a gibson squire, and they don't want to get them confused

Do you play home/with friends, or do you gig also?

If you play at home, then perhaps you'd want the guitar over the amp. It's easier to imagine the tone from what you're hearing, than to image the guitar from what you're feeling. The Spider should get you close to a lot of tones for now.

I play at home and jam with my drummer buddy and my other guitar cronies and it's primarily metal with some blues and RATM style thrown in

Would the Valve king be good for metal? I've heard it suffers severely at the low end and people tell me I should just save up for a mesa combo....

I do love the Mesa heartbreaker...
