I have to prepare typical food of great britain for school, and it has to take 90 minutes.
I was thinking of toad in hole but it takes only 45 min
but then I came to the idea of making another thing with it, irish stew

does those 2 things fit together?

you have to eat it all yourself?! do the abjudicators just crowd round you till you eat your last bite?
#9
You do know it's "cook", right?
Try beef Wellington. It's win all over. If you make your own pastry and pate, it might even take 90 mins.
#10
you could do something like a lancashire hotpot...ent quite sure how long that would take though.

lancashire and its food ftw

Wrong side of the pennines
Erm, Fish and Chips is always good; it's idiosyncratic to any kind of mentioning of British food. Anything with Cumberland Sausage in it would work also. YOrkshire puddings are my favourite, and they're pure British.
Or, go for a real shocker for your judges and do a Tikka Masala curry, which was made in Britain for British people.
Sunday Lunch is good too, but that's a big meal. Lancashire hotpot will be OK I suppose, although I don't like them

OR, go REALLY British and have a good ol' pie!!
I hope it doesn't seem, like I'm young, foolish, and green.
Let me in for a minute, you're not my life but I want you in it

French have terrible tastes.

EDIT: When we got invaded in 1066, we got a lot from the French. Instead of eating pig, we started eating bacon, beef, etc (different parts of the pig, words like that actually have French origin). We picked up a lot from them. However, modern day French food? I'd rather have my eyes gorged before I get full on that stuff.

Too high class, doesn't fill you up, tastes crap...

The traditional British dish is Chicken Tikka masala.

You can marinade the chicken while you make the sauce, it should take around the 90 minute mark.

Also, having read this, I think it's really sad that a thread on England can't be made without people broadcasting their stupid stereotypes and getting into arguements over 'english' things... grow up, boys.

Lies!!! face the truth and acknowledge that a piece of yorkshire pudding is essentially bland and tasteless. Hotpot is the true King of English cuisine

Look at it...Its essentially a pie waiting to be filled (with hotpot) and missing a top

Hotpot is superior, search your feelings, you know it to be true

technically, this guy is right, and it'd throw them off their tracks too, go for it!

oh, and to the yorkshire pud battle, they're best with roast beef, either surrounding it or next to it filled with gravy, those things are luush

is it just me or when us brits are introduced to a british themed thread we all put on our traditional brit accent?
