I got a Peavey Classic 50 today used for $500. Looks, plays, and sounds like new but was half the price .
What's more, I traded in my POS Spider III and it's finally GONE. It was a steal, considering before I was looking at a Valveking or a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe. It's nice to have good tone.

You sound exactly like me.
I got my peavey classic 50 for 500 bucks, and I traded in my spider III also.
I was looking at a VK and HRD also before I found the classic.
What color did you get it in?
And yeah, classics rock.

Sweet man! Lovely amp. I've been thinking recently that after I get a JS1000 that I might get a Classic myself (in tweed of course) for practice sessions. Maybe a gig or 2 if I don't fancy using the JCM sometime. Lovely tone on them for such a good price.
It seems the last 2 or 3 days this forum has been filled with people making great purchases. It seems the gods favour UG!

Mine is in tweed too. Is it the 410 model?
Yes. Very cool amps. I think i'll get an attenuator for it one of these days, and soup up the speakers.

^Haha, stupid GC.
I'm gonna go there with a notebook and pen, and review the HECK out of everything.
I'm trying to up my contributor score on UG.

They gave me $140 for my Spider III! I was amazed.. and trying very hard not to die laughing.

And it's the 212.. I couldn't find the 410 but I don't mind, I like the size the way it is.

Actually it was Daddy's Junky Music. I guess it's worth more because I bought it there a year ago or something like that.

Or...blow it up. Tape it, and post it on youtube.

Just an idea... You probably will get $30 for it. I think a view from every Gear forum regular on UG is worth more than 30 bucks.

Unforunately there aren't. I've been trying to offload my MG halfstack for over a year now and still no success. I mean it's the best selling product on musicians friend for god sake!!! Ok fair enough I don't live in America but surely someone that lives in my area must be stupid enough to buy it! (After all, I was stupid enough to buy it new!)

Find a Marshall fanboi.
Convince him that he needs a new amp.
Tell him that it's the greatest amp in the world
???
Profit!

That's how it works in the USA, because there's alot of really stupid people here. I'm not sure about the general intellegence in wales, but it must be somewhat higher than over here.

I know a Marshall fanboy, but unfortunately he already has an MG halfstack and thinks it is the greatest amp in the world. But he doesn't want another one
Either way I wouldn't really want him to have another one because he is the other guitarist in my band and I have to put up with his crappy squealing tone as it is.

People here are stupid, but they are lazy aswell and can't be bothered to pick it up or anything, I've had people email me saying "is this amp still for sale" i say yes and then i never here from them again.......god gives me some sunshine only to them drown me in rain it seems, the swine. The thing is I'm being a bit stubborn with the price, I refuse to go lower than £200 ($400 i think) because I have heard of them go for that price so much and I'm not gonna get caught out again, even though this piece of sh*t is an eyesore at the end of my bed which I wake up to every morn.

Hmm... Tell him that his tone will become twice as awesome (have two different kinds of distortion perhaps?) if he has two.
I dunno, i'm just throwing it out there.
Maybe just haggle with a local store.

Well I tried doing that a couple of months ago but the deal fell through in the end because the only guitar shop that would take it ended up not having enough space for it. I could try them again in the morning though I suppose. No harm in trying.......especially when trying to get rid of an MG lol.

Ha, I'm selling a Spider II 212 to a dude for $200.

I'm seriously thinking about a Classic 30/50. TS, do you think I could get it to sound anything like this? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fssK62wQxxg&feature=related

Go for it.. classic rock-type distortion is what the Peavey Classics do best.

You put it on Ebay yet?

And those people who never email back, they're probably the ones who come to this site saying, "I R BUYING MG, OPINYONZ?!" Then they get shot down and don't email you back! You might have to start singing it's praises...
