Hey,
I have the opportunity to buy an old amp (i've posted a few times about this, i'm still contemplating if I should get it or soup up my c50).
The seller made a video of it on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yFuveSUaFdo

What do you think of those cleans? Worth 300 bucks maybe?
I don't have a spectacular ear for clean tone yet, that's why I need your help.

Thanks again!

For the best tingle, use Original Source mint. That shit feels amazing on your balls.

I don't think the guy has a better way of recording.
This just makes me more confused. I'm thinking of just playing it safe and buying my originally planned weber MASS.

^That's what I was thinking. I think the guy used the bridge pickup of his guitar.

Bridge Humbucker =/= Good cleans...

I'd say they were mediocre. Got sparkle, but thanks to the HBs they're clearly lacking... Quality is a bit shoddy. I doubt they're much if any better than your C50 cleans to be honest.

ahh there is your problem. but then you still don't know the full potential of them for one and two they didn't sound that good anyways imo. my princeton chorus's cleans sound better then those did. but for being a SS amp my amp sounds great with cleans

Well, despite the camera mic distorting, yeah, i'd say they're pretty good.

For 300 bucks its not much of a gamble, I assume you cannot play the amp in person right?
To my ears doesn't sound great but the recording is far from good, so I cannot say. Your classic 50 cleans are pretty top notch, I think they are nearly as good a fender, deferent sounding, but very nice any way.

Yeah. I agree that this amp has alright cleans. But do you think my tone will benefit more with my C50 and this amp running together, or me buying an attenuator for recording/small gigs?

If you're worried about cleans, just grab a jazz chorus for like 400 bucks.

^I was thinking about that too.
But, the recordings that i've seen of it seemed TOO clean, know what I mean?
I may just get an attenuator and swap out the speakers or buy a nice 212 avatar cab.
