I'm having a dead area on the 17th fret of my 1st string. I just replaced all the strings. The action is perfect. This happened before and I lowered my bridge pick-up because it was the obvious culprit, but tried it this time and nothing changed. There's nothing wrong with the rest of the strings on that fret, either. This is an EXTREME annoyance for me and I will constantly just hit the string and wish it will go away. I can't even play my Strat its so annoying to me.

Anyone know what the problem is and/or how to fix it?

Seems like a high fret if I understand right. You need professional attention. It could be raising slightly just on the high e side of the 'board.

Even if it isn't, I'll do it anyway. Thanks.
