Okay so I'm thinking about applying for a job at best buy in the computer department.

To what extent of knowledge would I need to work in this department? Anything specific? I believe I have a pretty good general knowledge of computers, mainly Windows XP.

Probably enough knowledge necessary to answer any question someone would have about computers. I think that would be a pretty cool job.

EDIT: I think you just need to know the basic specs of all the computers to help the person find what they are looking for.

Knowledge of computers is not the same as knowledge of Windows XP.

Knowledge of what's best for a family computer, professional use, gaming etc.

Be market specific.

Alright thanks for the replies guys. Guess I better study up on the professional market of computers. I know gaming and family computer needs.

right. maybe a bit of a bias building up there?

i'd talk to an employee at Best Buy and ask them.

My mind is going. I can feel it.
