I need suggestions. I'm into punk, alternative, hardcore, and rock. I'm not a huge fan of metal, especially because double bass for an entire song gets on my nerves.

Suggestions pl0x?

Oh, by the way, by "rock" I'm referring to bands similar to Alice in Chains, RHCP, Foo Fighters, etc.

If I were you I'd pay a visit to those sub-forums here on UG, you'll probably see some threads about interesting bands you've never heard about before

also:
Nine Inch Nails
Soundgarden

the mars volta!

they have something for everyone. at first they were alternative, but theyve been getting harder with each cd. there new album is like metal kinda but not as homosexual. no boring double bass.

At the Drive In and The Fall On Deaf Ears
Cedric from The Mars Volta was in those two bands before TMV.
The bassist and guitarist in TFODF were killed in I think a car accident.
