#1
Dreams shatter, with every waking moment
Heaven doesn't matter, when you're low as pavement
And I couldn't capture what you meant to me, in five words
or less.

Palpatations and beads of sweat that trickle
Down a face and a time that's so fickle
And you couldn't squeeze the words from inside me,
under duress

And in my hesitation to commit,
I've gone and put my foot in it
You don't know what you've got
til she's walking out the door.

And now I scream the words to an empty room
I love you!

Dreams shatter, but I don't sleep
You're all that matters, but I've let it slip
Cos I couldn't tell you what is so easy to say now

Palpatations that hit my chest and heart
My life is a mess, I don't know where to start
Cos I could say those words in a second....but it's too late

And in my hesitation to commit,
I've gone and put my foot in it
You don't know what you've got
til she's walking out the door.

And now that door lies in pieces,
all shattered and splintered
Because my heart was ready but my head was blinkered
