I've come up dry trying to find these kinds of songs. I'm not talking about standard lullaby songs, but songs with a slightly lumbering sleepy feel to them. I think "Do Re Mi" by Nirvana kind of has this feel, but I'd like to see what The Pit has in its' arsenal.

there are some albums by David Grisman and Jerry Garcia that are basically bluegrass and old traditionals but its just guitar and mandolin, pretty cool stuff.

Try some ambient / avant garde stuff by bands like

Godspeed You! Black Emperor
Brian Eno
Aphex Twin
Labradford
Stars of the Lid
Sigur Ros

or some minimalism

John Cage
Steve Reich
Terry Riley
Philip Glass
John Adams

or dare I say it ...Einaudi. He is so bad you'll be snoring straight away.

why the heck would u want songs to fall asleep to?

Not so much that as I want songs with that hypnotizing feel to them. To me there's something kind of dark in a lullaby, this bizarre twisted innocent feel about them, I love that feel.

And I'll be sleeping over at a good female friends' house soon and she asked for lullaby's.

Porcelain by the Red Hot Chili Peppers is very lullaby-ish, and I fell asleep listening to In Rainbows by Radiohead once (in a good way).

people have already mentioned most the ones i would have...so Im gonna go ahead and tell you to check out these two bands, any album

Explosions in the Sky
The Album Leaf

Both, I would say, have very mellow and lullabyish undertones...they are almost purely instrumental as well
