I play a more hard rock and blues. Please choose a company and expalin which humbucker from that company. Thank you.

i have duncans in my start two singles and a p-90 in the bridge so yeah they rock for blues hard rock and even a little metal
#3
Don't get a P-90. SRV59 doesn't know anything about metal. Id look into Seymour Duncan. Dimarzio is a good company, but I find there pickups to be a little lacking in terms of unique. Id go for a Sh-8 Invader at the high-gain metal/Rock/Punk side. Tom Delong used on in Blink-182. Or, I would look at a George Lynch Screamin' Demon. I happen to have both HB in the bridge of my 2 strat guitars and am very satisfied.

BTW, If you go with a high-output humbucker it will screw the pickups balance. You'll have volume problems and tone problems with the neck and middle if you don't replace the neck and middle to match the general output of the bridge.

Don't double post.

First off, hard rock and blues doesn't mean anything. There are many different kinds of tones in that genre. You can't tell me that Led Zeppelin hard rock sounds the same as Twisted Sister hard rock, or Maylene of the Sons of Disaster hard rock. Likewise, Stevie Ray Vaughan is blues, but does not sound the same as T-Bone Walker.

I think that the EMG you posted isn't that great, anyway, and wouldn't even be compatible with the controls in his Strat. He'd have to change all the electronics and upgrade to active single coils.

Further more, we don't know his amp yet. Ideally, EMGs should be used to drive a nice tube amp's front end hard.

You can have passive/active settup.

but just an opinion.

If hes got a ****ty amp then I'd upgrade that before the guitar.

and sorry for the dobble post my computer is a douche.

You COULD. But You need to have separate controls for the EMG. EMG's need 25k pots, and passive single coils use 250K. The EMG would sound like ASS with 250K, and likewise for the strat singles.

And then you can't use them together.

It's possible to use a buffer so you can use them together, but it's a hassle. And it's possible to wire a Strat with two volume controls, so one could function as the EMG's...but it's a hassle.

Are you tone deff?

Maby with cleans, but if you boost it up a little with a 18v mod I think it helps a little bit.

I think you should tell Zakk Wylde his pickups suck.

Uhh ohh!! We've got a ZW fan boy on our hands here!!

I've played guitars with HZ-H4s, 81's, 85's, and 60's so I have experience with them. EMG tone is horrible and they are one of the least versatile pickups on the market.

If everyone has their own opinion, why are you so intolerant of people who think EMG's suck?

I do think EMG's can sound quite good if you know what you're doing with them, but they're severely lacking in terms of versatility. If TS plays anything lower than Iron Maiden- esque amounts of gain, actives are not for him.

Well thats great for Iron Maden, but I use active pickups and play a tottaly diffrent style.

EMGs are really nice pickups and I've had no problems with them, i dono why every one hates them out of no where. I guess all the bands that use them suck, what was I thinking
#22
I'd say a duncan alnico 2, relatively low output but can handle extreme amounts of gain.

You CAN play anything with anything....but some guitars sound right for some things, and not for others. Single coils sound retarded for metal, though those who are apeshit about harpsichord probably beg to differ.
