Can anyone tell me what a tube screamer does, does it add overdrive or does it just boost your signal? I have a d/recto how would it affect its tone

Edit: Sorry meant to post this in the gear section

Well its an overdrive pedal so one would imagine that the effect produced would be overdrive.

if you keep the overdrive control low, it's a good boost. it really tightens up your tone a lot. With some drive in it it also sounds really good. it gives quite a bit more midrange than most pedals, but it can really help your tone.

great for a solo boost

Would a TS-808 go well with a Peavey Valve King 212? To really get that Metallica and Iron Maiden sound.
