Hey guys im in need oh help yet again. Ive found 2 guitars on the guitar center site that catch my eye for thier price its either the RG321 found at the following link (http://www.guitarcenter.com/Ibanez-RG321-Electric-Guitar-512492-i1147796.gc)
or the RG2EX1 found at the following link (http://www.guitarcenter.com/Ibanez-RG2EX1-Electric-Guitar-103382115-i1167867.gc)
i currently own the RG321 but for some reason the 2EX1 makes me think whether i should have bought it instead of the 321. Any feedback is welcome, thanks a bunch.

Both these guitars are excellent value for the price, and are both hardtails. Basically, it's between the woods of the guitars. They have the same neck and very similar hardware.

Basswood is light and versatile with decent sustain. It doesn't interfere with the actual tone of the guitar, so it's a basic wood. Basswood is favoured for shredders as it is cheap, light and allows their setup to depend more on the pickups and amps, but read on.

Mahogany is a very heavy and very dense tonewood that puts real power behind the notes you play. You will really notice the difference if you go from the 321 to the 2EX1. I have guitars amde of both woods, and I much prefer the mahogany, so the 321 is superior. The only real advantage of the EX1 are the pickups, but the 'Designed' tag doesn't guarantee quality. You made the right choice - keep with the RG321!

I've got no experience with Spiders but they keep getting slated on this forum for sound quality. I personally use Laney amps, but you may be better off with a Marshall or something - depends on your music taste. Someone else'll probably clear this up.
