I have a cube 30 and use it at practices... it's clean channel is great and I definitely recommend it over a Spider (They sound really fake and digital to my ears, basing my oppinion off a Spider II).

But really if you're going for a main gig amp and care about your tone (even though I love the cube's tone, very JC120), look into some tube amps. If you really think you need the multi-fx, check out some of the Vox amps. Deciding between a Vox and Cube would really be just personal preference for me, both are great amps.

If you play heavier stuff, the Cube.
If you like your cleans and lower gain stuff, maybe try out a vox valvetronix?
