So I think I'm retarded.
I have the Metal Muff. I love it, but I'd love it even more if I could get the settings right.
I'm looking for a fat metalcore sound. (As I Lay Dying, Unearth, etc.)
But I can't seem to get it.

My amp and guitar is in my sig.

hmm i don't normally play much metalcore, but i remeber someone saying to turn the treble and bass right up, and then scooping the midrange to where you want it. try that. also experiment with the top boost! i love it!

Yeah,I normally don't scoop the mids, but I got the best Metal Muff sounds when I cut the mids a little.

My settings were:
Treble:A bit more than 12:00 (1:30'ish)
Mids: 1/4 of the way up
Bass: A bit more than 12:00 (1:30'ish)
Gain: 3/4 of the way up

Add Top Boost to taste if you have the big model.

I have my amp warming up right now, haha.
I'll give those settings a try.
The problem I normally have is I can't get that fat palm mute sound. And when I turn up my bass on the pedal or the amp, it always drowns everything else out.

turn the bass up and the treble booster on for palm muting. that should even it out.

So I've tried everything that you guys have recommended, but now I'm getting an extremely muddy sound. So my next question would be, is it maybe the speaker in my amp? Or the pickups? Maybe something else. Because I know that this is a great pedal, haha.

the metal metal muff has a very fuzzy sound to it and you can't really get that scooped out smooth metalcore sound out of it...
Read my post. Not this.

So what would you recommend for a metalcore tone?

I don't see getting any sort of metalcore sound out of a Valve Standard. Isn't that the same thing as a valve junior but with effects? I got a great metalcore sound out of my roland cube with treble and mid straight up and bass almost all the way. Put top boost about 1/4 and distortion 1/2 to 3/4 and I got a great tone for being SS and a pedal.
