I have the FM65r but mine has all black cloth frt and a green label speaker.
I like it. very nice sound for a solid state amp.
I play it with a digitech rp80 or I also have a set up with sepreate effects pedals.
If I use the blackface setting on the rp80 I get pretty much the same tone out of the amps clean channel.

there are so many other brands that are cooler..... I dont what all the Fender fuzz is about! In my world Fender is the worst alternative to a decent amp!

try some Randall, Laney, Engl, Marshall or Line6 amps instead

I have the 15W version, the clean is good, but you'll need some sort of pedal for overdrive/distortion.

Have you actually tried one or are you just hating on solid state in general.
If SS was as bad as some of you make them out to be they wouldn't make any bigger than a practice amp.
I will agree with you that Tubes do give you a slightly better sound but come on !!!!
Atleast back up your trashing with some facts.

^ Nope, not just bandwagon. The guitarist in my band has one. It is ****.

The reason SS goes beyond practice amp size is because they make amp companies lots of money. Think about how much money Marshall probably makes from idiots buying MG halfstacks.

To each their own I suppose...
I have a 1971 Ampeg 100w tube amp and the Fender fm65r and the sound out of the fender is almost, if not just as good as the Ampeg.
I have had Marshall tube heads before aswell and I am still impressed with the sound out of the Fender. Now if we are talking built in Distortion/or overdrive then yes by far the Tube amp but all it takes to rectify that is a good pedal like a boss distortion. $250 for the fender and $100.00 for a good pedal compared to a how much for a tube amp?

To the threadstarter try it out at a store if you like it and the $ is right then go for it. Thats all that matters in the end.
