Who do you guys think is a better guitarist? Paul Gilbert or Vinnie Vincent?

I think Gilbert. He's clean and fast, rather than Vincent, who's sloppy and his phrasing sucks.

I say Gilbert.
Mainly because I have no clue who Vinnie Vincent is (Not a huge shred fan).
And, Gilbert does rock.
Call me Wes.

Are you kidding? This is like comparing Steve Vai with Billie Joe Armstrong. Vinnie Vincent couldn't even do a good job replacing Ace Frehley.

My friend asks you, "Have you ever heard his solo albums?"

One more for Gilbert. He has an awesome voice to back up his guitar playing, and he's a sick songwriter as well.

Gilbert. Have you heard Scarified? Oh he has a wonderful singing voice too, topped off with a good humor.

Gilbert's got my vote. I think Vinnie is an amazing guitarist in his own right, the problem is that you almost never get to hear it. I'd really like to hear some slower stuff by him, I think he would be capable of making some pretty amazing stuff. I think he sounds lots sloppier than he really is, part of that I think is that he's got some of the strangest phrasing I've heard.

At the end of the day, there's like 20 people that know who Vinnie Vincent is, or have heard his music, while tons of people know who Gilbert is, or have heard his music.
