AND there's 7 bids on it. o_O

Now, if I had the money, would I want this?

In a motherfucking heartbeat, but this is still pretty insane.

Thoughts?

$3million is a ridiculously low price to start with. The owner of the collection has turned down offers for far more over the years, including an offer of $28million nine years ago.

hmm, and $3 million bought it

go figure...

I don't need 3 million vinyl records that I'll never listen to.

Yeah they really should give it to a museum or something.
That's the history of music right there.

I'm sure he had some way of having a private company do it for him.

Plus, if you've got $3,000,000+ to blow on that, then I'm pretty sure you could have similar connections to get it stored and whatnot, as well.

If I had millions of dollars I'd buy that in a heartbeat. Frick, I'd just walk through with my eyes closed and pick a random record once a day. That would be awsome.

I wonder how long it'd take to listen to it all.

If you assume 30 mins per disc, 3 million discs = 171 years.

So basically anyone who is bidding on this is batshit crazy, especially when you can be a pirate. And by that, I mean pillaging music stores, not torrenting.

Yup, which is why I said no.

I also don't have a spare castle to store them in.
#31
shipping must be a bitch. I think that's just kind of over the top though... Honestly, where would you put it all? And there's no way in hell you would even be able to listen to 1/10th of it. There IS such a thing as TOO much!

You would have to listen to it at twice normal speed.

Or listen to two albums at once.

Or believe in reincarnation and pick up where you left off.

I bet the guy who bought it isn't even a music fan anyways. Probably just some rich bastard looking to resell it for more to some other rich bastard.
that is demotivational if I've ever heard it.
REAL music fans don't have 3 million to spend
#35
If I were rich,I'd buy all the albums..then I'd sell them. One by one. So I'd reap the cash.

But yeah, that's a little to extreme with all the modern technology to store music in the computer, I think this is redundant and historic at the same time.
#36
If I got that, I would actually, no kidding, stay in my little shrine of music and just spend like, a month just listening to those records.

EDIT: 171 years? I guess I'd have to find a way to store all the music to liquid form and inject it straight into my temples or something.
