So I got the bar into my American Strat, and I'm not sure...is it supposed to be really loose? Or kind of tight to allow slight trem depressions? I always thought it was supposed to be loose and just hanging down. (this sounds dirty) Any idea?

WTF are you talking about?!? just the Whammy-Bar itself, or are you talking about the Tremolo in General??!

Whammy-Bar: Should be Loose(r). So you can flip it around easily

Tremolo in General: You should run All Six Tremolo Springs so you get a better chance of it returning to pitch....which would make it a lot Tighter/Harder to Press Down on....

He's talking about the whammy bar. Some people prefer it tight, some prefer it loose, I almost never use mine.
