Hey. I just got a Yamaha Bass to learn on from my friend and when i got it ot was missing a string. Well i put the new string on and tuned the bass, and even though it is tuned to e the low e is really flabby. Does anyone know why this is? Thanks in advance.

does the low E seem rediculusly thick?............it might be a low b by mistake

Have you tuned it to the right E?

Is the string a 34" string? What gauge is it?

If it's flabby and an incorrect string, it's probably a G instead. A low B would be tighter at an E, not loose.

Is the nut correct?

Is it put on correctly?
