It's probably the older Epiphone Explorer. Is it bolt on?

Not worth much then. Maybe something like 50-150 bucks.

I'd keep it and just muck around with it. Mod it or something.

I know that Epiphone! It's a Limited Edition of the "Hard Body" series called The Beast:
Bolt-on Maple neck with Rosewood fretboard
extra-hot covered Humbuckers (the one in the pic is a replacement, I'm pretty sure)
String-through body
Lightweight, solid body, not sure what it is
Came in Metallic colors (the one in the pic is a re-finish, I'm betting)
I've seen them in shops and they go from $75 to 150 depending on condition

The PUs are passable at non-cranked volumes ... becomes painful cranked. YMMV.
