What is a good hard rock/metal band BESIDES Rage Against the Machine that play is drop D?

I am using the Drop D where you only tune down the E string and thats it.

E
B
G

any gay metalcore band.
/bad generalisation.

Fixed.

Slither is played in Drop D, and so is She Builds Quick Machines I think. Both are epic songs.

Hundreds of bands use it. Even bands which mostly play in E-standard have songs in drop D, its so easy to tune to drop D in a live setting.

On the UG frontpage, right of the 'search' button theres now 'advanced' setting. Select this, then search for a band you like w/ tuning in drop D selected and it'll give you any tabs in drop D for that band.

I know a couple but there not that heavy really.

Nirvana - Heart-shaped Box
Nickelback - Animals

Lamb of God though are heavy and I think they do some Drop D.

Avenged Sevenfold do a few.

Jesus, everyone uses drop d eventually.

Jeff Buckley did and he isn't even metal. Just look up songs.

I'm probably going for Lamb of God.
Thanks, Pit.
^Never thought I would say that.

No More Tears is played in drop D. And yeah, RATM and Soundgarden are both good examples of drop d too.

Many many metalcore/nu-metal bands use them though.

Obviously, Toaster Strudels are the same as Toaster NAZIS.

Soundgarden:

Outshined
Jesus Christ Pose
Black Hole Sun
Spoonman
Let Me Drown

EDIT:

Almost any band at one point or another?

Dropped D is too close to standard to really even matter in most circumstances.

Aerosmith have been known to use drop-D. Living On The Edge does, there may well be others.
#26
Led Zeppelin:

Ten Years Gone
Moby Dick

The Sword plays in Dropped C, but you can play their songs in Dropped D
#27
Demon of the Fall or Blackwater Park by Opeth
and if you're willing to use DADFAD (Drop-D with the two highest strings also tuned one step down) you can play almost all of Ghost Reveries by Opeth, except Isolation Years (DADFAE)

Um no, Dream Theater hardly ever does the drop D. Most of the songs that sound downtuned are on a 7-string, so B standard. Only drop D song I know by them is "Home."

And Opeth has a lot of drop D.
#33
Porcupine Tree plays in Drop D sometimes. They aren't really a metal band, but they have some heavy, fast stuff every now and then. Hell, I'd rank the song Deadwing right up there with Dream Theater and Opeth songs.

In fact, just go buy the Deadwing cd. It'll fill that emptiness in your soul.

I believe Tool does. I know Justin Chancellor, the bassist does, so reasoning allows me to assume that the guitarist does too.
