Some Age of Empires type games are always fun. Probly should go in the gaming thread though.

Oh will you guys shutup with all the commercially popular and overrated Strategy and 3rd person games. Im sure we all know these enough. Get some games like this in there, older, but still wicked graphics, gore, and adventure fun. Drakan : Order of the Flame

All of the HL2 games (Original and EP:1 are soft. EP:2 is heavy)
Portal (heavy)
Halo (soft)
Doom 3 (soft)
Bioshock (heavy)
Call Of Duty 1, 2, and 4. 3 isn't for PC ( 1 and 2 are soft. 4 is heavy)
Assassins Creed (heavy)
Elder Scrolls: Oblivion (heavy)

All of them are awesome games that you HAVE to play.

Heavy = needs a good pc
Soft = will work on old machines.

Oh and I almost forget. Prince Of Persia 2 and 3.

And download a SNES emulator and play Chrono Trigger.

You sir are correct. Counter Strike: Source or COD4 if you into FPS. Right now there is nothing good out for MMORPGs But you've got Age Of Conan: Hyborian Adventures and Warhammer Online coming out in a few months which should be sick. In my opinion WoW has nothing to offer for a real gamer and that's all I will say about it.

Oblivion is a very good game and it isn't technically an MMO, but it functions the same except for the fact that all other players are CPU.

I've played quite a few games and Counter Strike: Source is the only one I still play regularly if that means anything.

Screw Oblivion, if you're going to play an Elder Scrolls game, make it Morrowind or Daggerfall. Oblivion is just a terribly dumbed down version of Morrowind. It's sort of like a candy that looks really tasty on the outside, but has no filling, it's hollow.

Nothing good for MMORPGs?

Three words: San Andreas Multiplayer. So much possibility in that little add-on.

EDIT:
Morrowind was terribly boring until it got good, I'm sorry to say. Oblivion was good because it had constant conflict.

good pc games:

warcraft 3
starcraft 2 when it comes out
warhammer 40k dawn of war
doom 3
half life 2
call of duty
crysis
max payne
neverwinter nights (the first one)
oblivion

i wouldnt bother with age of empires unless you can deal with older games. the first and second ones were good back in the day and the third one sucks

Indeed. One of the only things I didn't like about Morrowind was the combat system, which felt weak, though I did like that it placed more of an emphasis on character skill over player skill. One of the things that made Morrowind shine was it's absolutely fantastic art direction. Even though it's graphics are ugly by today's standards, it still manages to be one of the most immersive games I've ever played. It really made you feel like an outsider in a strange, diverse new land. Oblivion in comparison just comes
off as dull, typical fantasy fare that's been done so many times before. Non-leveled dungeons made the game difficult. Rather base enemies and loot off of player level, dungeons ranged from easy to very difficult, you'd really get a sense of accomplishment after clearing some of them, especially with the valuable and powerful loot that could be found in some. Oblivionalso dumbed things down by lumping several skills together or just outright removing some, such as spears or throwing weapons. The game also has the added bonus of being quite playable on Windows Vista, I can't say the same for Oblivion.
