My cheap Yamaha pacifica has been acting up lately. Whenever plugged in, there's a huge buzzing. I've tried tweaking with amp controls and the pick-up selector on the guitar, but nothing will work.

I plugged my bass in to make sure it was the guitar, and not the amp/cable. Sure enough, it is the guitar.

Any solutions?

1.Dont plug a bass into a guitar amp
2. If it has single coils thats the problem.

i agree with #1 but there's nothing wrong with single coils.

Check all the solders, the pots, make sure you aren't around any flouresent lighting and the TV is off. Your computer or anything electronic can make humming a huge problem, especially with single coils.

1. It wont kill it unless your pushing it to distort.
2. Single coils arent a problem.

Its most likely soldering/wires/RF interference.
