The 6 hour Workout

So, I was really bored today and I figured that, since I have no life, I would try to pull a Steve Vai and practice guitar for 6 full hours. I jotted down exercises I knew, made up my own, and finally, picked out two solos to work on. I then put it all in a power tab, and so... here it is. I practiced all of these at a speed where I could play them perfectly, then cranked it just fast enough that I couldn't quite get it, and then went back down to slow so I ended each exercise with perfect technique (which is apparently important.) A metronome was instrumental in this process. The following is a list of the exercises and the time to spend doing them. Feel free to change this to your liking (i.e. play it faster, just choose exercises, etc.) This is not only meant to be a grueling 5 hour practice session, but also to be a repository of exercises and licks to use when practicing. Enjoy.

The workout is divided into 5 sections:
Warm-up/exercises (very helpful)
Scales and Modes
Licks and Riffs
Sweeping
Solos

If you want it, it's in this thread. Read the readme. Tell me what you think.
I'm looking for a tab of The Marshall Plan, by Blue Oyster Cult, and of Mario Minor, by Powerglove. If you have one please PM me.

I'm sorry but unless you have a huge will power, practicing 6 hours a day as work rather than as something that you love, will turn playing the guitar into something monotonous and you will begin to despise it.
I did play 8 hours like two days, and one time I even reached 9 hours. But that was because I just felt like not stopping and did it as entertainment.
My advice: Don't do it as work or you may start to dislike it.

EDIT: and thanks for the exercises. They look awesome.

I'm sorry, but that's just such cliche bull****.

If these people DID grow to despise it, you wouldn't see so many technical guitarists.

No, the truth is that they love the instrument enough to want to spend so much time expanding their limits. It's a very deep passion. Instruments are supposed to involve work.

As I said, PROBABLY. There are exceptions. I had a friend that his life is guitar. Yet, when he was young, his parents made him practice piano and that's why he doesn't like it and ended up quiting. And that's the same thing with other friend.
I said that I did play that amount of time some times. But because I like it.
My point is that playing 6 hours a day because you have to instead of because you want to, may make you stop liking guitar that much.
