I play by my own rules. And I have one rule; There are no rules... but if there are, they're there to be broken. Even this one.

wash your hair with your palms, if you use your fingertips it wares your callouses down really fast, i always either just wash with my right hand, or my palms

It's really not such a big deal. Your callouses don't disappear fully or anything, they just soften a little. I get it with my right hand now and again if I don't play bass for a while. It's been longer than 3 months before, and it wasn't particularly painful. Especially if you ease back into it, don't do more than an hour the first time you play again.

I bet putting your fingertips on a hot rifle barrel will callous them up real good . . . or just give you some mean blisters.

Maybe when you're feelings stressed, instead of chewing on your nails, you could chew on your fingertips?

National Service is some sorta programme by the government to train 18 year olds (those who postpone for college have to continue after college) to be more patriotic, tough and more confident. But IMO,it's a complete waste of money. There are some kids who died there before. They use the money for education purposes.
