The only advantage of home-schooling is that it gives you good reason to commit suicide.

Hit this once or twice, and you'll be twice as nice.

Aphex Twin, Boards of Canada, Squarepusher, anything from Warp records.

Or try Radiohead, they're a good bridge from rock to techno.

Moments into minutes.
Minutes into hours.
Hours into days.
Days into years.
Years into possibility.

This will linger.

I do hate it though, when I trip and a guy pulls his pants down at the same time and his penis goes inside my mouth.

Of Montreal isn't Canadian...the band is named after a long distance relationship the lead singer had with a girl from Quebec.

and on topic:

Maybe some blues stuff? B.B King, Muddy Waters and Howlin Wolf are personal favourites.

If you want a foot into indie try something like the Decemberists...they're a pretty safe bet.

Actually... Brian Eno, !!!, Steve Reich, Porcupine Tree, the new Nine Inch Nails record, 65daysofstatic and Godspeed You! Black Emperor. Try those.

EDIT: And Venetian Snares and Autechre.

^^^Definately. I would like to add Isis, Russian Circles, and Kekal. They are more of an ambient style of metal that is unique and refreshing.
Also check out An Endless Sporadic, Don Caballero, Hella, Tera Melos, Slint, and the million other instrumental math rock bands.
