You can buy a pick holder, it has a sticky part, and you stick it to your guitar and cram pics in it :P

i never noticed his picks on his guitar...
but i'd never put a pickholder on either my guitars.

Actually, there is a type of pick (called something like "Ice Pix") that has a sticky material backing to it. I have a couple around my house. The material wears out very quickly, though, but they are comfortable to your picking fingers.

I'm not sure if Slash's picks are the same brand. He may have just made his own.

He uses Dunlop 1.14 Tortex Picks, the purple ones. And I'm pretty sure he has a piece of tape that is attached to the headstock so it sticks onto the headstock and so he puts his picks there.

That's what the rest of VR does too, although Duff has a pickholder on his mic stand too.

I read his Biography and he mentions he uses tape to keep them there.
