We are almost there. We are within a few quick rounds of determining once and for all the best blues guitarist of UG. At least until we do the duels again.

For this week, we have Dimebag22 vs. TeXaS_db, and it should be a great duel. Let's get a lot of voters this time, and remember, the winner gets a trip to the finals!

Dimebag22: "Blues Jam In G"
TeXaS_db: "Struttin' Busted"

Good luck, and may the best bluesman win!

Awesome!

Good luck Texas_db

they were both great, Kris played well as always, but I went with TeXaS_db, just because it had a really great Black Keys type feel, and I love the raw garage blues-rock sound.

good job both of you, and good luck!

Both are great!

Had to go with Dimebag though. Really lame reason why, but that lick at 30 seconds for the turnaround. That was just so perfect it got you a vote!

Great job to TeXas_db, love the garage / texas / blues,grunge - y sound!

I voted for Dimebag. Both great playing, Dimebag's was more my style, and I felt there was not enough variety in TeXaS'. The same rhythm went on a little long for me, to really showcase your playing.
#12
Go Texas!!!

Dimebag - you are quite amazing as well, but I'm just really feeling Texas's Struttin' Busted!!
#13
Tex, I was checkin out the other tracks on your page. You rock man. You got someone doin vox for you?
#14
dimebag gets my vote, more creative and interesting playing.

both were excellent

in my profile i have a song that me and Chrisatgrace collabed on. he did vox's and bass.
but i have been experimenting with vocals a lil bit lately, and once i get some lyrics written down im goin to try to fit them in my songs. but the thing is i suck at writing lyrics. i tried before but it always ended up being really corny. but i'll figure out something.

thanks, and cheers

Seriously tex, I think that I am gonna DL your songs. I dig em that much (listened to all of them today). If you want to do some collabs, I am getting a mic in about a month. Hit me up
#22
I think texas' track felt more like a real song, and a good one with potential at that, with a great solo, whereas dimebag22's was good, but just felt like an unorganized solo. It was full of random licks, but I didn't think any of them really tied together that well, and it kind of dragged on.
I'm gonna go with TeXaSdb

Yeah. I didn't get bored at all through the whole thing

Wow this has been by far the best duel yet, good luck to both!

To be fair, I would have done an actual song, but I would have to overlay a bunch of tracks that have been recorded from my shitty microphone and the end result would be a bunch of static and bleeps and pops. Like listen to my YouTube and imagine that bad of quality times 2 or 3.

I would love to take part in the voting but I noticed that tex's is a myspace one and I am on my sisters school laptop that has myspace blocked

Dimebag's was great though.

Don't feel bad. I liked it.

Just liked texas better

Tex gets my vote, coz it was more interesting, especially the solo, I was thinking, wheres the hell is the solo? and then it bit, great job.

Sorry Kris, you did a great job, but it was unorganised in comparison to Tex!
#30
Eh it looks like Texas is starting to pull away, but theres still plenty of time left. What a great duel, and whoever wins really deserves to go to the finals!

Yes, it is. Very much so. The tough thing about these duals is that there are so many variations to the Blues that when, say, a quiet ballady Blues number goes up against a Blues rock piece then the audience's genre preference can be more important than the quality of the music.

(PS I am not necessarily referring to this duel; it's something I've been aware of during each duel and it often makes voting fairly quite hard.)

Well now I feel like a dumbass...

I voted Texas.

You'll be fine. The idiocy will rub off. Just remember

It's stereo amp, and I don't think it's tube. However, for a stereo amp, it is very good. Don't plug guitar into it; just use it as hi-fi if it works.
#37
Hey Texas_db, did you lay a drum track or are you using a program? because honestly with some of these new programs I can't tell the difference.

i think on "Struttin' Busted" i used a really cheap lil 15 watt crate practice amp, like this
http://www.guitarcenter.com/Crate-GTD15R-Guitar-Amplifier-with-Reverb-104203849-i1170732.gc
except mine is alot older.

then on my other songs i used my Vox,
http://www.guitarcenter.com/Vox-Valvetronix-AD50VT-50w-1x12-Guitar-Combo-Amp-102806882-i1145847.gc

im tryin to save up and get a fender tube amp, like these
http://www.guitarcenter.com/Fender-Hot-Rod-Deluxe-Amp-100259491-i1145367.gc
or
