hi!

so...I'm deciding between these two.
I play mostly punk rock(blink 182,green day and so on) and we only play that in my band, I play some hard rock(AC/DC,Guns n' roses) but not much, and some punk(sex pistols, ramones) but not much but still more than hard rock :P
so...a cool amp for band practices and small/mid gigs that would suit mostly punk rock.
Is the VK better than the Windsor?
I rarely use clean.
If I do I use clean like in the intro of What's my age again of blink 182.
But I DO NOT NEED crystal clear cleans or even close to that.
It just has to be less distorted :P
so I would be happy of your suggestions cuz I'm gonna buy new amp this week.

If you don't use cleans, the Windsor will rock your skull out.
Washburn HM Idol w/ SD JB in bridge > Ibanez Weeping Demon > Korg Pitchblack > Digitech Bad Monkey > Boss NS-2 > Boss DD-6 > Egnater Renegade > Splawn 2x12 w/ Weber Sig12Bs

Both are good amps, but if you want cleans, get the VK. if you don't, get the windsor.

You CAN play anything with anything....but some guitars sound right for some things, and not for others. Single coils sound retarded for metal, though those who are apeshit about harpsichord probably beg to differ.

The downside of the Windsor is that in order to get a semi- clean sound, you need to roll down the preamp volume, which isn't footswitchable. Otherwise, the Windsor blows the Valveking away.
#13
You can clean up your sound well using the volume knob on the guitar with the windsor.

the Windsor is better on pretty much all counts. IMO VKs are complete crap, there are SS amps that I like a lot better.

It's a shame that crackhead Dan Agusto had to do the demo of it on gearwire

Alot of people are getting the wrong idea about the amp from that!!

thanks guys...
I personally like Windsor more too but I'm worried cuz of no cleans.
But I can still get cleans from it right?
not best ones but I can... thanks a lot!

I've tried the Windsor and it was crap. I tried it head to head with a Valveking and it got pissed all over. Thats why I now own a Valveking.

Line 6 POD HD500
Peavey Valveking 112

Yes you can get cleans from the Windsor very easily and they are usable at high volumes too, they're just not the best.

I dunno, Gearwire needs better reviewers.
Drew Krag is even worse than Dan Agusto.
