hi i just got a new macbook, ive been a pc user all my life and i just wanted to know if there was any pc softwear i could use for mac eg word,powerpoint

Yes, you can get both word and powerpoint.

Anything you used on PC you can either use on mac, or find an alternative.

can i use the pc disks to install them or do i have to buy a special one for mac

Nope you need to buy (or obtain by *other means*) a mac version.

Watch out for the screens on macbooks. My friend rolled out of bed on his. BAM! Also, his hard drive got all messed up for no reason a couple weeks before that.

i'd advise using iwork over office, because iwork is much better and can both read and write in office file formats.

but thats just me. if you really like office stick with it, but i think iwork is generally more useful.
