I just listen to whatever I'm in the mood for at that time. I almost never listen to the band that I'm going to see. Often when we have travel more than an hour, my friends and I pop in some Wu Tang Clan because we're gangsta like that. Ok, not really. But the Clan is really good driving music.

Who takes an mp3 player to a gig? I chat to my friends, whoever else is around or in the bar and hopefully the band, personally.

I take the bus, and don't usually have my music with me.

Darn rich kids with your cars.

I usually listen to the opposites, as in when I went to see Death I was playing Heart all the way to the show, and when I saw Opeth it was Jag Panzer, Dream Theater I listened to Porcupine Tree (not that different), and the Slayer concerts were all met with nothing before hand but straight energy drinks for lovely moshes

Well, when I went to see Rush in Toronto, all the Toronto stations had constant Rush for hours.
So thats what we listened to.

When I went to see Rush last July I made a 2 hour Rush CD. My dad took off the top to his car and we blasted Rush all the way there. It was great.

But yeah I normally listen to the band I'm going to see.

Don't drive to gigs - it means you can't drink and if you're getting a lift chat to your friends!

Listening to the band's albums before you see them is dumb. It's like jerking off before having sex.

I usually just listen to bands of a similar style while we're driving to the venue.

Technically it WAS written in Everyone Hurts.

Well, seeing as I've only been to one concert, and I have no idea what I listened to on the way, I can't tell you.

When I went to see Blue Oyster Cult, I listened to Blue Oyster Cult. When I went to see The Strokes, I listened to The Strokes.

I went to see Muse play in Toronto...I flew out there with my two friends and we stayed there for a total of about 10 hours. Stayed in the airport terminal overnight and whatnot. Waiting in line at the venue we could hear Muse warming up, so I guess I listened to Muse before seeing Muse :P Terribly expensive day that was, but worth every single penny to see them play. Best day of my life.
