Aye sorry,

Right.. the searchbar, it was sitting right there. I glanced over, it's reddish brown appearance was un-inviting, so a new thread I created.

I have Sound ---> Color and Ordinal Linguistic Personification. There's also a little bit of Lexical ---> Gustatory, but the tastes are subtle.

Judging by what you guys are talking about, is this when you naturally associate two totally unrelated senses?

Such as when I think of the number 1, I picture it as being red, 2 as being yellow, 3 as being blue, etc... Or like when you hear a song, you can sometimes visually "picture" what the sound looks like?

I've got the Lexical --> Gustatory on very rare occasions with extremely few words such as "Solfeggio" which gives me a hint of salty foam, and "Blynchiki" (A russian word) which feels like a wet rag. But that's about it.

That's interesting, that you only get it with specific words. For me, a harsh K sound tastes salty, wheras a softer S is reminiscent of bananas. There are a few others also, but those are the ones that I notice.

Oh okay. Well then I have both of those things that I was talking about.

Too bad it's not like actually tasting them though, else I'd be repeating any sounds that are tirimisu-like in nature. haha.

XD I know. I'd end up getting a really stupid sound that tasted delicious, and run around yelling it all day.

That almost sounds like it would be cool to have. Is it as cool as I think it is?

My life would be a dull rut if I didn't have it. Hah, I'd go mad listening to music and not being able to see it with my mind's eye.

Any note I hear I visualise as a colour, so yes. When I'm writing acoustic songs I tend to visualise a landscape or other such picture and then build music around the colours I see.

I guess I kind of "see" music too. It's more a jumble of colours/shapes/landscapes or people created in my mind. I can't really associate them like "this note=this" it's just that it's there in my minds eye when I listen to music. Is that how it's supposed to be?

I associate smells with certain times in my life, that I get nostalgic about. Same for tastes. Is that it?
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools

I used to get images in my mind when I thought of a certain word or something. Not anymore though, well that I know of.
I can honestly say I have really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like.

i definately have number form synesthesia. im pretty sure i have sound -> color one as well because when i listen to music i see things like the windows media player visual thing. normal sound and talking is like a white string in my mind that vibrates when i hear something.

I'd imagine those claiming to have synesthesia to be comparable to the grandiose number of those claiming to have OCD, ADD, etc.

I often see shapes with music, none distinguishable, they just seem like endless shapes, sometimes colored, that form depending on the music. Tool is often Grayscale. I really don't think I have synesthesia, though. I believe everyone experiences something similar to a certain degree due to association. We sometimes irrationally associate certain things with one another, I think.
