I've seen weird (though it's probably just because it's unknown to me) chords at some places in tabs I have read.

For example:

e|-----------------------------------------|
B|-------------------0--------------------|
G|-------------------0--------------------|
D|---------------------------------------- |
A|-------------------2--------------------|
E|---------------------------------------- |

Is it just me or is it impossible to strum A, then jump over D and then strum G and B so it all sounds simultanous? What is D supposed to be?

play it as dead note (X) or play with fingers

you can either fingerpick them all att the same time or you pluck the A-string while using your ring- and little finger pick those open strings. Or you can mute the D-string by letting your finger slightly touch it and then pluck them all

I guess the D string is supposed to be muted.
My Setup:

Epiphone SG G-400
Epiphone Explorer
Ibanez RX
Gardisten Aucustic
Line-6 Spider III head
Line-6 4x12 Cab
Zoom G1 Multi-effect(sucks big time!)

Thanks guys. Oh and I have one more question that I forgot to ask:

In stairway to heaven there is a part that goes:

e|-----------------------------------------|
B|-------------------0h1-----------------|
G|-----------------------------------------|
D|---------------------------------------- |
A|-------------------0--------------------|
E|---------------------------------------- |

How do you perform this? Do you just play the open chord and then hammer-on 1. fret right after the pluck?

Finger pick for that song, that's what I do and it's much easier then trying to pick it I think.
