Hey all been looking into this a while and need a lead sound , Im aiming for a fuzzy sound like Jf ( RHCP ) , Matt ( MUSE ) and tom morello (RATM / audioslave) I know you cant get a pedal that does them all but was wondering which was the best , most versitile and value for money . So far i came up with three but never had the chance to play either as i live in the crappy country side and you tube videos dont really help.

Vexter Fuzz factory
Little Big muff ( or the other muffs? )
and a BYOC (build your own clone)

Thanks in advance Sean

well fuzz factory will definitly give you the muse tone, while the big buff will give you jf's...i guess is up to whos tone do you like the most and decide between those two

Try out the 3 types of Big Muff and see which one you like best.

Well I know Frusciante also used a FF at some point, so you could get muse and RHCP tone from the FF, where as you could only get one kind of fuzz tone from the big muff. If i were you, Id go with the FF.

If you want to play Morellos tone, I reccomend turning your settings to...

Volume : 0
Gain : 0
Treble : 0
Bass : 0
Mids : 0

Snapping the strings off of your guitar and screaming into the pickups should work decently well.

(For the sake of the thread, I've had good experiences with Big Muff)

I love all muffs.

But if you have the money, get a woolie mammoth. That thing is awesome

Get a Sovtec Big Muff if you end up going for a Muff. They're likely closest to what the professionals use, being closest to the vintage and all....

The Barber trifecta fuzz is killer. a/b it against a 68 ff no comparison. Three different fuzz face circuits with the ability to mix more or less bass in with the fuzz.

Depends on how much you care about being exactly like your idols. A NYC or Sovtek muff should do fine if you're not hugely pickey.
