Right, here's the situation...

I play lead guitar and sing backing vocals in a blues and rock and roll band, influenced primarily by The Rolling Stones, B.B. King, T-Rex and The Black Crowes.

Recently we decided - in order to break up our set a little - to include a short section of acoustic songs (about 2 - 3) featuring only the singer/rhythm guitarist and myself.

So yeah, I need ideas of songs to cover that would work well with just an acoustic or two and vocals.

Off the top of my head, I can think of the following...

She Talks To Angels - The Black Crowes
Dead Flowers - The Rolling Stones
Man Who Sold The World - David Bowie
Hotel Yorba - The White Stripes

Can't think of anymore right now, so anything in the same sort of vein would be good.

Oh, and no Wonderwall!

Personally, I think Slide Away is the best song they've ever written.

Try something by John Mayer, TS? Or one of Zeppelin's acoustic songs? (after all, there's plenty of choice there).
The Beatles? Eric Clapton? Dire Straits?

I know it's a bit heavier than the stuff you listed, but that's negated by the idea of doing an acoustic version: Paranoid by Black Sabbath. I enjoy playing that unplugged, it sounds pretty cool.
I play by my own rules. And I have one rule; There are no rules... but if there are, they're there to be broken. Even this one.

Confused? Good.

I'd do something different by Bowie, maybe Ashes to Ashes, which is amazing. I'd also maybe do Strasbourg by The Rakes which would sound cool acoustic.

Find the tab to: "Just A Kid" by Manic Street Preachers. It's played with slight overdrive, but I guess there's no major difference.

Wild Horses by the stones would keep the mood and fit the setlist. if you do it right.
