I have the bad monkey...and i am really pleased with it. It is cheap and comparable to the TS808. Some say it is even better
#5
The Screamin' Blues is good i'll give it that because it does cover a very wide range of sounds from slightly crunchy to just full on rawk!

Just think Kansas -Carry On My Wayward Son and you're there

BUT.. i would say go wit the Ibanez TS (try and get a TS808 instead of a TS9 tho)
The one legged chickens from outer space made me do it!

i have a bd-2 and its awesome.

i have now modded it and its up for sale to fund a tiny terror. what a pedal though... make an offer if you are interested in it.
Thank you please.

carry on wayward son tone? omfg like on of my fave songs ever, plus its the cheapest pedals there, i think u might have just sealed the deal by even mentioning that song

but that song makes me cum. i will try them first but i dont wanna try all the pedals if they arent gonna get close to the sound i want, im definatly gonna try the ibanez, and the bad monkey, but if the screamin blues gives that tone, its pretty much the perfect tone for me so i will have to try that as well

You probably won't need one once you get the VC30.

+10.

Tubescreamers just make Valvetronixs over trebely and terrible sounding.

i dont care what u people say but i think my search might be over.

Joe satriani and vox have teamed up and are relasing a distortion pedal, if its anything like satchs tone it should be awesome and will have to try it out

Well before you were asking about overdrive pedals which made sense because you were going to use it with whatever tube amp you got, but now you're saying you want to get a distortion pedal, which defeats the purpose of getting a decent amp.

I actually like the Screamin Blues.
And i'm a tone freak. It is crunchy, but slightly fake sounding to me.
But, you're not a tone freak... so you should be fine.

I didn't really like the screamin' blues, so I chose the Bad Monkey over it.

I liked it while I had it, and until I played a TS-9/OCD. I sold it right as I got a new OD, it sounds way compressed and I think it is worth the $50-100 for a decent OD.

But again, it doesn't make much sense to get this for a hybrid, when you are getting a tube amp soon, both of which have great OD.

I have heard that if you have a good amp that it is better...but if you dont the second best thing is probably sonar, but you dont need pedals if you are going straight to computer since the effects are in the programs...

an OD pedal will sound crap without a tube amp, direct recording with an OD pedal is pointless.
