Singin' The Blues With Soul is a great Ray experience. It's got some good trio stuff on it, which is him, a guitar and a bass - there's guitar solos in that. That's got a nice jazzy rendition of Sittin On Top Of The World on it

And other stuff too

A lot of the tunes from the McSon Trio days (when his name was still Ray Robinson) had guitar solos. I believe it was the "Mc" part of "McSon" that played them.

I think he wanted a Ray Charles song with Ray Charles actually performing it... though, meh.

Are you talkinga bout the thing Mayer palys with John Scofield?, that's definitely scofield's song, blows Mayer away. That whole album of Ray Charles covers is great.
