Do you know what guitar/amp setup they use? I'm a little interested.

not sure on amp, but i know that luke now plays Ibanez S prestiges and the other dude (i just punched myself in the balls for forgetting his name ) uses esp vipers because he's a G.

They don't go into distortion, more along the lines of heavy overdrive.

I THINK they use Mesa Boogies though.

what kind of amp/guitar do you have? I can point you the settings to do to sound like them.

Thanks for the info man. I'm actually looking to buy a new guitar and amp if you could think of any slightly cheaper alternatives, that would be greatly appreciated.

And by cheaper I mean 1,000 dollars for a new amp and guitar total.

alright, there ya are friend, might be like 1 or 2 hundred over, but it'll get you there without need for an upgrade for quite some time.

anyways, here's how you'll want to set this up.

Overdrive Channel
Use Gain 1 set at 8
Contour at 6-8 (you judge it)
Treble at 8
Mid at 6
Bass at 3-4

also, use your MASTER volume more than the CHANNEL volume.

On your guitar, set your volume knob at about 8 and judge it by tone knob.
should get you very close on mark with PTH's tone my friend.
