I'm stuck between these too amps. Any owners experience and comments are welcome or suggestions of other amps in that price range. I play a lot of metal and lots of quite not as heavy stuff (G'n'R, foo's etc) but mostly want a versatile amp

Valveking is the most versatile amp anywhere near that price point. Sounds like you might want to try one out. Also try the Randall.

Valveking or a Randall RG50TC.

I've had tube amps for a while now, but never actually had any go down on me

maybe you're not saying the right things? an amp likes to know you care.

would a VK 112 be loud enough to gig small halls and pubs?? Ive been looking into that with a bad monkey. It's more in my price range but if it cant handle gigs ill fork out the cash for the 1 of the other 2
