What do you guys think of him? I personally love him, Odelay and The Information are two of my favorite albums...but it's an acquired taste. What's your opinions?

I agree with everything you say except that he's an acquired taste. I'd say he's quite accessible, but maybe that's just me.

Did you search this? I'd be surprised if there wasn't already a Beck thread.

Well, I know a lot of people who don't like his mixing of styles, etc. Or his voice.

Beck is a genius, i love his music. The packaging for 'The Information' deluxe was the best i've had in a long time. do it yourself album art, with stickers? sweet!

apparently, Joe Satriani's new album will be influenced by Beck. There was an interview with him in some Guitar World.

Indie stands for Industrial I think, like Marilyn Manson.

Do you punch them in the face? Because you definitely should.

Sometimes I really enjoy listening to him and sometimes he gets a little out of control. Mixed feelings I suppose. Odelay was definitely a great album though.

I'm pretty sure he meant Jeff Beck. Somehow I can't imagine Beck-esque beats in Satriani's music.

it definitely could have been. i wondered a lot myself.

it said something along the lines of 'Satriani has cited the solo artist Beck for much influence on the new album...' and then something. really pretty vague. i just thought i'd incorporate that into the Beck thread.

Yeah, Jeff Beck seems a bit more appropriate for Satriani than Beck Campbell.

And the other day, I was driving my mom to work so I could use her car the rest of the day and I was playing The Information and she said she really liked it.
