Ok.

What would the tonal differences be between these two guitar types.

1. Mahogney W/ Flame top , Set neck, EMG 81 85 pickups

2. Alder, Set neck, EMG 81 85 pickups.

To be more specific, Im probably going to sell my custom 24 w/ emgs( its just not Metal enough for me) and go back to an RG/Jackson Soloist/ESP M style guitar.

I've build my rig around the mahogney w/ Flame top wood guitar. If I switched to Alder while keeping the EMG's, what kind of tonal differences should I expect??

Thanks

The Alder body will sound very slightly brighter, but with EMG's you won't hear as much of a difference as you would with passives. EMG's make guitars sound very similar, regardless of wood.

Im just really keen to the fullness and depth of the mahogney. Thats the main reason why im on the fence with alder, I dont want to compromise on that aspect.
