So was there a reason why long hair became popular again, starting in the 2000s?

Honestly I think sometime in the mid 2000s, or maybe sooner there was this massive resurgance in longer hair.

Because it became trendy for indie wh0res.

What? No dude I see everybody has longer hair, videogame nerds, metalheads, jocks, whatever you name it.

Hanson did it
I hope it doesn't seem, like I'm young, foolish, and green.

I have long hair because i dont want to waste 12 bucks on a haircut. I've saved close to 60 bucks if i would have gotten a haircut at the usual times i used to. I've had one haircut in the past 10 months or so. Come summer time i'll probably just shave it off though.

I had long hair because I didn't like getting it cut and where I go it's 30$ for a light trim so I've saved money and looked Metal all at the same time

Since when was long hair ever not popular?

70s, you had classic rock guys like Led Zeppelin. LONG HAIR.

80s, HAIR metal. They don't call it bald metal.

90s, the greasy Kurt Cobain-look.

It's just continued into the 2000s.

Using the electric clippers I have at home to cut my own hair- $0.00. Yeahhh...

Granted, it does cost money to purchase the clippers.
mmmk.

Because I have it, obviously.

I don't think it ever went out, really. Guitar music people have always had it.

Because being a lad went out of fashion, and being an indie ponce came into fashion.
#31
Yeah, because in the early 90s, people didn't walk around with long hair all the time.

BUT THEY DIDN'T!!

Yes. Yes they did. The people in this thread are looking at it in the standpoint of their own aging process. The people in their age group didn't have long hair until the 2000s, which is around the time they started to become teenagers. People had long hair the entire time. Not everyone, but a lot of people.

But hey, at least you have a 10% chance of absolutely guaranteeing failure.

Proof. Tommy of the Power Rangers. He cut his hair when he grew up, post 2000.
