Aerosmith - Mama Kin
Ac/Dc - Highway To Hell (or any Ac/Dc, lots of the riff-work is pretty easy)
Black Sabbath - War Pigs
Deep Purple - Black Night
Jimi Hendrix - Fire
Kiss - Cold Gin (good for training your stretching )
Led Zeppelin - Communication Breakdown
Pink Floyd - Another Brick In The Wall pt. 2 (chord progression... it's a nice one to practise )
Robin Trower - Bridge of Sighs
Rory Gallagher - Laundromat
Santana - Europa
The Black Crowes - Remedy
The Rolling Stones - Brown Sugar
The Who - Pinball Wizard

and anything by the Beatles.... maybe a bit lame, but great for learning chords and their progressions

(and for chords, use www.chordfind.com)

Have a nice time learning to play guitar... and don't quit when you can't play something after a couple of tries, really dig deep man
-------------------------------------------------

- Epiphone Sheraton (1988, Korea)

most AC/DC should be good
even like the solos to T.N.T. and High Voltage
also Van Halen's You Really Got Me is easily as long as you can do some simple tapping
it looks and sounds cool and impressive

Then you should start by learning some chords.

Tabs are all well and good, but even in a tab most of the rhythm parts are based on chord shapes, if you don't know them then you'll struggle to make sense of the tab. I know you want to get straight in there and learn your favourite songs but you have to start at the beginning with the guitar. One chord at a time is more realistic than one song at a time at the start.
